Alpha Omega baseball

Youth baseball players in the Huntsville area will have the chance to soak up knowledge from a former major leaguer next month.

Glenn Wilson, a 10-year MLB veteran, will host a baseball camp from July 15-18 alongside his son Andy, the head baseball coach at Alpha Omega Academy. Andy served as a varsity assistant and junior high coach prior to taking over the helm of the program from his dad — who will stay on staff as an assistant — in May.

The camp is open to ages 8-17, and will run from 5:30-7:15 p.m. each day at the Alpha Omega baseball field. The cost is $75 if registered through the AOA website, or $90 on the first day.

In addition to offering campers the opportunity to hone their skills with the help of a former pro and current high school coach, the week will also feature a hitting competition on the final day. This will include a home run derby, opposite field hitting competition and pure hitter award.
