Margaret Faubion Ibison, 89, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011 at the Hospice of St. John in Lakewood, Colo., after a two-month battle with bone cancer.

She is survived by her 91 year old brother, Walter Keith, in Plano, Texas; her two sons, Roy Faubion, Lewisville, Texas, and Richard Faubion, Denver, Colo.

In addition, there are five grandchildren, Sara Grunberger, Tucson, Ariz.; Rebekah Faubion, San Antonio., Texas; Rachel Faubion, Lewisville, Texas; Joshua Faubion, Fort Worth, Texas; Grace Faubion, Lewisville, Texas; and Faith Faubion, Sacramento, Calif. Margaret also left six great grandchildren:  Damian, Kendall, and Lilli Faubion; Alexis and Gabriel Faubion and Samuel Grunberger.

 Margaret was born and raised in Houston, Texas, attended Sam Houston High School and spent many years working at Graybar Electric. She loved bowling, bridge, cooking, travelling and making you feel loved.

In 1973, after Margaret lost Burhl Faubion, her husband of 22 years, she moved to Point Blank, Texas and married Jim Ibison. They lived on Lake Livingston until his passing in 1991. She remained in their home until January 2005 when she suffered a stroke.

 After rehab, she lived in the Dallas area with the eldest son, Roy, and his wife, Carole. For the last three years, she lived in Denver with her son, Richard, and his wife, Claudia, moving from their home into independent living, then assisted living before being moved into the Hospice of St. John when her cancer was diagnosed in June of 2011.

 There will be a small graveside service in early September at Forest Park Lawndale for close friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness VisionWalk team that Margaret was a member of, Parka’s Pals. Parka is Richard’s guide dog. Donations can be sent to Richard Faubion, 1663 Steele Street, #607, Denver, CO 80206. Richard is blind and works for the Foundation as a Business Development Manager.
