Lynn Lucas was born Nov. 12, 1928 in Houston, Texas and passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2007 at his home in Willis, Texas at the age of 79.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Loys Lucas of Richards.

He is survived by his wife, Cora Lucas of Willis; son, Gary Lucas and wife Kristin of Missouri City; daughters, Monte Wall and husband Brad of Katy and Marla Ubernosky and husband Steve of Kingwood; grandchildren, Rebecca Lucas, Alyssa Lucas, and Stephen Ubernosky; and sister, Mae Bell of Houston. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Lynn graduated from Richards High School in 1946. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Sam Houston State University and his Master’s Degree from the University of Houston. He began his teaching career at New Caney High School in 1952 where he taught for three years. He was employed by the Willis Independent School District for 35 years where he retired in 1989.

He has been a member of First Baptist Church of Willis since 1965 where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. He was a member of Don Woodruff’s Sunday School Class at the time of his death.

Services will be held on Monday, Dec. 17, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Willis. Interment at Ebenezer Cemetery in Huntsville will follow the service. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007 from 3-5 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
