H. L. Moses was born Nov. 28, 1925 to Homer Lee and Hester Virginia (Langham) Moses in Huntsville and passed away June 28, 2006 in Montgomery, Texas. He will be remembered for telling jokes and never being at a loss to come up with one on a second’s notice. He joined the US Navy when he was 19 and served in World War II. He worked as a mail carrier but his favorite pastimes were traveling, fishing, trail rides and skiing.

He was an avid family man and he cared for them very much. His survivors include daughter Bonnie Hollis and husband Carl of Huntsville, daughter Linda Ford of Montgomery and daughter Debby Evans and husband Bob of Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Kevin Hollis, Stacey Hollis Fisher, Stevenie Ford Haner, Jennifer Ford Veits, Joshua Ryan Barton, Clayton Stewart and Sherry Evans Alfonso and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wyneita, in March of 2004.

Services will be held in the Chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home of Huntsville Friday June 30, 2006 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Reagan Cooksey officiating. Interment will follow at Mayes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
