Three juveniles are facing assault charges after an employee at a local charter boarding school was attacked with a fire extinguisher.
Officials with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office say that deputies were dispatched at approximately 1:23 a.m. on Sunday to Gulf Coast Trade Center near New Waverly on an aggravated robbery call.
Upon arrival, staff from the trade center reported that an employee had been struck with a fire extinguisher by a juvenile, who then fled in the victim's vehicle. Police later learned that three students had left the campus without permission.
While searching for the missing juveniles, officers learned that one of the juveniles had returned to the campus. He was picked up by Walker County Sheriff deputies and transported to Victoria Juvenile Detention Center.
The vehicle was recovered the following day by officers with the Terrell Police Department along with the two other juveniles.
The victim was transported to Huntsville Memorial Hospital for treatment.
