A Huntsville man was shot following an argument at a trailer park late Saturday night.

Sgt. Gary Howze of the Huntsville Police Department said the victim drove to the trailer park, located in the 1500 block of Sycamore near 16th Street, and began to argue with one of the female residents.

During the course of the argument, Howze said, a male relative of the female came outside, produced a handgun and began firing at the victim while he was still in his car.

Howze said the victim managed to escape in his vehicle but not before being shot in the back.

He received an entry and exit wound from the bullet.

Howze said he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries at Huntsville Memorial Hospital and released soon after.

Howze said investigators are currently attempting to locate the female involved in the argument as well as the shooter.

No connection has been established between the victim and the female involved.

Howze said they have suspects in mind but are still compiling information.
