The Woodlands Chapter of Jack and Jill of America awarded six scholarships to local graduating high school seniors this year. These scholarships were based on academic excellence, letters of recommendation and the student’s response to the essay question about an individual or event in their life which influenced their decision to pursue a college education.

This year one of the scholarship recipients is J'Kandione Tre'mon Coleman of Huntsville High School. Coleman is an outstanding scholar who is graduating in the top 20 percent of his class. He is the captain of the varsity basketball team, a member of the Business Professionals of America and also Advanced Broadcasting where he has reported on the daily news for his school.

In his spare time, Coleman is an avid volunteer in his community. This fall, he will attend Texas A &M University majoring in veterinary and biomedical science.

The Jack and Jill Chapter is proud to support students, such as Coleman, in reaching their academic goals and honored to support them. The Jack and Jill scholarship will help finance the first year of college for this amazing student.

Jack and Jill of America is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2 to 19, dedicated to nurturing future leaders by supporting children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty. The Woodlands Chapter has supported this community since 1985.
