Huntsville police have released a sketch of a man wanted for the armed robbery of a Huntsville floral shop last Saturday.
The suspect has been described as a black male with an athletic build, between 200 to 210 pounds, and 6 feet 1 to 6 feet 4 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket with a hood and khaki pants.
According to police reports, the suspect entered the storage area of Heartfield Florist located at the intersection of Sam Houston Avenue and 16th Street about 11 a.m. on Valentine’s Day. He was armed with a dark-colored handgun and demanded money from two employees.
The man searched the room before tying up the employees, who were not injured, then fled the scene. Heartfield’s owner earlier reported nothing was taken in the robbery.
Police believe that a second suspect could have been in the area. The gunman was heard talking to another person, possibly on a cellphone, police say.
The Huntsville Police Department, with the help of the Texas Department of Public Safety, was able to obtain a sketch of the armed suspect.
