Community reports led police to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer on MLK Drive.
Authorities say that they received multiple reports of a suspect selling narcotics and marijuana, who was also buying alcohol for minors. Police were dispatched to the Quick Pick gas station in the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Drive around 10:45 a.m. Monday to investigate, and during their investigation, officers say that they discovered 18 hydrocodone pills.
“It is good we were able to arrest this suspect,” HPD Lt. Curt Landrum said. “We do not want someone providing alcohol or drugs to youth.”
The suspect – identified as Theodoric Hedspetch – was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and is currently being held at the Walker County Jail on $4,500 bond.
