The Huntsville Police Department is investigating a man who allegedly jumped to his death from the Highway 30 overpass onto I-45 around 2 p.m. this afternoon.
According the HPD, at approximately 2 p.m. the Walker County Communications Center received an automobile-pedestrian accident call on I-45, northbound, at the SH 30 overpass.
Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene. Upon their initial investigation, the Troopers determined the incident was a possible suicide and called for the Huntsville Police Department to take over the investigation.
Currently detectives with the Huntsville Police Department are investigating the incident as a suspicious death. Initially it appears that the victim either fell or jumped from the SH 30 overpass onto the northbound lanes of I-45 below.
The name of the victim in the incident is currently unknown.
