Hancock-Daugette Wedding

Danielle Mary Hancock and Billy Ray Daugette III were joined in marriage on June 13, 2009, at Andrew's Episcopal Church in Newport News, Va. The Rev. Dr. Robert D. Marston officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Keith and Narinder Hancock of Newport News, Va. Grandparents include Kenton and Huguette Hancock of Maryville, Tenn., and the late Baghat and Gurbachan Bedi of Chandigarh, India.

The parents of the groom are Bill and Debra Daugette of Huntsville and Cynthia Callan of Austin. Grandparents include Thelma Deike of Huntsville, the late Billy Daugette of Peterman, Ala., and Richard and Linda Callan of Cheboygan, Mich.

The bride wore a full-length, candle glow gown made of silk sent from India with a chapel train. The veil was elbow length and used a vintage head piece wrapped in silk to match the dress. Both gown and veil were designed, handsewn and adorned with lace and over 2000 pearls by Huguette Hancock. The brides' flowers consisted of a hand-tied pearl and ivory satin bouquet with mini white calla lilies, white roses, white lisianthus and accented with lavender

wax flowers.

The matron of honor was Crystal Ripley of Fayetteville, N.C. The bridesmaids were Rubinpreet Kaur of Sunnyvale, Calif., Camil Liceaga Pina of New Haven Conn., LaVonna Martin of Richmond, Va., Jessica Spires and Savannah Bolin both of Newport News, Va. Attendants wore clover-colored dresses of differing styles. Their flower bouquets consisted of mini white calla lilies, white roses, white lisianthus and accented with lavender wax flowers.

The best man was Nnamdi Oparanozie Jr. of Wappingers Falls, N.Y. The groomsman were James Jones of Jacksonville, Fla., Mark Daugette of Corpus Christi, Brian Daugette of Reston, Va., Kenton Hancock II of Newport News, Va., and Timothy Ripley of Fayetteville, N.C. The groom and groomsmen wore traditional black one button tuxedos with ivory shirts. The groom's vest and tie were ivory and his attendants' ties and vests were clover.

William Wilds served as the master of ceremonies. Bradley Norris served as organist. The bride’s godmother Mme Marie Florence Tremon of Antananarivo, Madagascar, served in attendance. The flower girls were Mansha Nain of Chesapeake, Va., and Melody Ripley of Fayetteville, N.C. The bride was escorted by her father who gave her hand in marriage. The alter flowers were white roses.

Reception and dance hosted by the bride's parents followed at the Port of York Officer’s Club U.S. Coast Guard Training Center. Flowers were white dendro and lilygrass. The bride's cake was a three-tiered vanilla cake with a light, elegant design ivory butter cream icing. Guests were served the choice of brie and cranberry-stuffed chicken or beef wellington.

The couple's first dance was “La Vie en Rose” by Sophie Milman. The bride and her father danced to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland. The groom and his mother danced to ”Can You Feel the Love Tonight” by Elton John.

The couple honeymooned one week in Lake George Village of the Adirondack Mountain area, New York. Their current residence is Arlington, Va. They can be reached on Face Book or at rangercook2004@hotmail.com.

The groom's parents hosted a formal rehearsal dinner at Fin Seafood, Steaks and Lobster in Newport News, Va. The event was themed, "The Perfect Pair." Photos of the bride and groom from youth to adult were set to a 10 minute music video and played to those present. Each attendee received a copy of the video as a memento of the occasion. Guests enjoyed oysters on the half shell and a choice of fire-grilled salmon, filet mignon or jumbo crab cakes.

The bride and groom would like to thank their parents for making their dream wedding a reality.
