Kenneth Lee Peterson

Kenneth Lee Peterson, of Riverside, passed away Oct. 25, 2009, at his residence. He was 68 years old. Mr. Peterson was born Jan. 14, 1941, in Houston, to James and Sudie Peterson.

He discovered his vocation at the age of 15 when he got a job making furniture. He soon realized that he had a talent and passion for wood-working. He formed his own construction company in 1968 with over 40 years of experience. Kenneth loved his family, enjoyed fishing, watching sports and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Claudia; two sons, Kenny Peterson and wife Sherry, Steven Peterson and wife Shelia; daughter, Janene Shelton and husband Corey; a sister, Ruby and husband Don; brother, Wayne and wife Patsy; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Columbus and Sudie Florene; son, Michael Ray; daughter, Janet Lee; grandson, Gavin Wayne; brothers, A.J., Lester and Donald; and a sister, Maxine.

The family will recieve friends on Thursday night 6-8 p.m. at the Brooke Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Riverside with the Rev. Jim Newton officiating. Burial to follow at Creek Cemetery outside of Lovelady.

Pallbearers are Lance Thompson, Donnie Griffen, Derek Peterson, Travis Peterson, Jimmy Leflet and Jimmy Brummett.
