Reba Elizabeth Stewart
Reba Elizabeth Stewart went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, after a brief illness. Services will be Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at 3 p.m. Visitation with friends and family will be from 1 p.m. until services begin at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. Burial will be at Brooke Cemetery on Highway 980 in Huntsville.
Reba was a wife as well as working with her mother, Mrs. Ovie Brimberry, to make custom drapes. She loved playing dominos – chicken foot and Mexican train. She was a long-time member of Cook Springs Baptist Church and a member of Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, DeAlva Backer of Hempstead, Texas; stepgrandchildren, Rossanne Herring of Hempstead, Mary (Damon) Boyd of Austin, Chris (Niese) Backer of Stockdale, John Appuliese, of Chicago, Ill., Lisa (Virgil) Vinklarek of Houston; great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Jerimie and Victoria Grudgicele, Coby, Adrianna and C.J. Backer; and great-great-grandson, James L. Herring III of Dobbins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Raymond K. Stewart; father and mother, Dunk and Ovie Brimberry; stepdaughter, Helen Appuliese DeLeon; and great-grandson James L. Herring Jr.
Pallbearers will be Chris Backer, John Appuliese, Virgil Vinklarek, James L. Herring III, B.J. Gaines and Sam Walker. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Ray Brown, Buddy Caraway, Tracy Gore, Bobby Swan, Don Costilow and Damon Boyd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cooks Springs Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of R Reba Stewart, 1936A Highway 75 N, Huntsville, Texas 77320 or charity of your choice.
