Robert L. ‘Doc’ Holliday Jr.
Funeral services for Robert L. “Doc” Holliday Jr., 84, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at the Metcalf Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Jerald Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Metcalf Funeral Home in Conroe. Interment will be 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at the Houston National Cemetery.
Robert was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Grapeland, Texas, and passed away Oct. 8, 2008, in Hockley, Texas.
He served his country during World War II as a Radioman Second Class on the FAW-17HedRon in the Command Air Southwest Pacific Theatre. Doc loved taking care of his cattle and family barbecue’s. He was a loving, husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Holliday was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Sr. and Eula Holliday; daughter-in-law, Pamela Holliday; grandson, Clint Holliday; and brothers, Bobby Elliott, Bill Holliday and Elmo Holliday.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ruth Holliday; daughters, Patricia Goodman and husband Jerry, Roberta Hodges and husband Benny, and April McMahan and husband Mac; sons, Larry Holliday Sr. and wife Debbie and Mike Holliday; sister, Theresa Steed and husband J.L.; grandchildren, Christina, Edward, Rayford, Hollie, Larry Jr., Jerry, Dennis, Krystal, Rachel, Rebecca, Benny Jr., Justin, Cody, Katie, John, Jacob and Alicia; great-grandchildren, Dallas, Dawson, Tyler, Bryson, Rope, Joey, Colton, Cade, Chesney, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Dustin, Dylan, and Shey; stepgrandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
