Bobby Joe Love
Bobby Joe Love was born in Shiro, Texas, on May 2, 1938, and went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 4, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William T. and Fanny S. Love; brothers, James G. Love, Knox Love, Cecil Love and Lee Troy Love; and sister, Gertrude Walker.
He is survived by wife, Alice Love; son, Ivan Knox Love and wife Alice V. Love; grandson, Cody Knox Love; daughter, Michelle Dobbs and husband Manuel; brother, Rudy D. Love and wife Debroah; sisters, Eugenia Thomas, Margaret Cooke and husband David, and Willie Mae Bush; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
Bobby moved to Houston in 1941. He joined the U.S. Army in 1956 where he served stateside and in Germany in 1959. Bobby and Alice were married Aug. 4, 1962, and had 46 wonderful years of marriage. He worked as an electrician in new construction for 12 years. In 1969, he went to work for the City of Houston, as an Electrical Inspector IV. Bobby bought a book and taught himself Algebra so he could obtain his Master Electricians License in 1973. He served as the Assistant Electrical Chief for 11 years and served as the Chief Electrical Inspector for 11 years.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home located at 1700 Normal Park in Huntsville.
Funeral services will be at noon on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at the Huntsville Church of Christ, 3737 Hwy 30 W, Huntsville, Texas. Interment will follow at Farris Cemetery under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
