Rafael ‘Ralph’ Serda

Ralph Serda was born on Nov. 10, 1930, in Mission, Texas, and passed away on Aug. 30, 2008, in Trinity, Texas.

Mass of celebration was held on Sept. 1, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Father Tom Edelen officiating. Serda will be laid to rest in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Serda is preceded in death by parents, Encarnacion and Epifania Cavazos Serda; a son, Able Serda; siblings, Amelia Vela and husband Trinidad, Aurora Olivarez and husband Auturo, Eli Silva, Emma Gonzalez and Reynaldo Serda.

Serda is survived by his wife of 52 years, Guadalupe Sanchez Serda; children, Maria Teresa Spencer, Maria Thelma Serda, Antonio “Tony” Serda and wife Juana, Alejandro “Alex” Serda and wife Debbie, and Irma Dowden and husband Michael; grandchildren, Bryan, Michael, Steven, and Brandon Serda; brothers and sisters, Alberta Ochoc and husband Oscar, Lesvia Peralez, Dora Rodriguez and husband Willie, and Raymundo Serda; numerous other relatives also survive.
