John Edward Badger Jr.





John Edward Badger Jr. was born Oct. 21, 1934, in Liberty, Texas. Mr. Badger was a member of the Huntsville Elks Lodge # 1981, and a former member of Masonic Lodge # 19.

He will be remembered as an avid bass fisherman, and an excellent brick mason. He was responsible for laying brick on numerous homes and businesses in East Texas. In his later years, he was employed by the Huntsville Historical Society, restoring older homes.

During this time his knowledge and expertise on bricklaying was featured on the TV program “Ray Miller’s Texas.”

He is survived by his daughters, Shannon Phillips of Somerville, Texas and Shae Grigsby of Huntsville, Texas; two grandsons, Colton Hyman and Hunter Phillips.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. at the Brooke Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Brooke Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Badger is Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. just prior to the service in the chapel.
