Bobbie Dean Starns

— Bobbie Dean Starns was born Nov. 16, 1943, in Walker County, to Robert Samuel and Viola Goolsby Starns, and died Aug. 6, 2008, in Huntsville, Texas.
Bobbie worked at TDCJ for 31 years and enjoyed his career there. He had said he had a very good life and wished he could have done more in the 64 years of his life. He and Lutie would have been married 30 years on Aug. 21, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents of Madisonville.
He is survived by his wife, Lutie Starns of Huntsville; daughters, Jeanette Starns-Collard and husband Kerry Collard of Huntsville, who are expecting their first child in January, and Debbie Roberson and husband Larry Roberson of Riverside; grandson, Tyler Roberson of Riverside; sister, Linda Ann Starns Davis of Trinity; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces. There are a few children that were very close to him, and much like grandchildren, Chelsey Starns, Haley Johnson, Bethany Gray, Destiny Warren, Brittnee Warren, and Kourtney Warren of Trinity.
Services will be held Aug. 8, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reagan Cooksey officiating.
Interment will follow at Midway Cemetery under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. The pallbearers are David Keen, Dan Scott, Ed Fisher, Troy Miller, Tyler Roberson, Robert Fannin and serving as an honorary pallbearer is John Goerges.
