Leola Marcontell

— Leola Marcontell, 100, of Orlando, Fla., was called home on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008. She will be missed, but we take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and is in the arms of the Lord.
She was born in Huntsville on Aug. 14, 1907. She earned a teaching certificate from Sam Houston State Teacher’s College, and eventually settled in Baytown, Texas. In 1995, she was brought to Orlando, Fla., to be cared for by family.
She is survived by her son, Billy C. Marcontell and daughter-in-law Donna of Orlando; three grandchildren, Russell Marcontell and Kimberley Keefe of Bryan, and Kelly Marcontell of College Station; one great-granddaughter, Emily Lizbeth Clark Keefe of Bryan; and several nieces and nephews.
She will be returned to Huntsville, where she will join three sisters and one brother who preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held Aug. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Adickes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home before the service.
