John Robert Berryman

— John Robert Berryman, an Elkins Lake resident and retired geologist from Texas Gas Exploration Corporation, passed away after a short illness on July 11, 2008.
Mr. Berryman, an avid golfer and sailor, was born on Nov. 23, 1928, in Shreveport, La., to Alice Nell Trichel and Robert Lee Berryman.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diane L. Berryman; his brothers, Hugh Lee and Lee Howard Berryman; his children, Susan Ney and husband Mark, David Berryman and wife Cyndy, Janice Wasser and husband Arnold, John Robert Berryman Jr., and Barbara Mounce and husband Rick; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and another on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers associated with Odyssey House Hospice in Conroe for the loving treatment their daddy received.
A memorial Mass will be held on Aug. 22, 2008, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Huntsville. The time will be decided at a later date. An online family register is available at www.brookefuneralservice.com.
