James Marshall Hansen
James Marshall Hansen was born in Muskegon, Mich., on March 19, 1925, and passed away on May 12, 2008. Mr. Hansen graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in l942 and attended Michigan State College (now University), graduating in 1947 with a bachelor of science degree.
His years at Michigan State were interrupted by service to our country during World War II. Mr. Hansen served in the United States Navy from 1943-46. He further served during the Korean Conflict from 1950-51.
Mr. Hansen was employed by Dresser Industries as a regional sales manager in Michigan and Illinois, as well as Texas, from 1956 to 1983. He moved to Elkins Lake in Huntsville, Texas, in 1983 enjoying a retirement of golf, family visits, and many friendships.
Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Carolyn R. Hansen; his children: James M. Hansen Jr. and wife Shirley of Hesperia, Calif., and Robert E. Hansen and wife Barbara of Grosse Ile, Mich.; daughter-in-law, Adriana Hansen of St. Louis, Mo.; his grandchildren: Jennifer (David) Herman, Douglas (Jacque) Bransen, and Caitlin Hansen; his brother, Thomas Hansen and wife Norah of North Muskegon, Mich.; as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel and Edna Hansen and his son, Paul D. Hansen.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville. Dr. Ken Hugghins will officiate.
