Guin ‘Jackie’ (Ready) McMillian

Guin Ready McMillian was born Oct. 1, 1923, in Huntsville, Texas, to Elmer and Grace Burnet Ready. She went home to her Heavenly Father April 30, 2008. She was a life long member of Farris Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sisters, Jerri Williams, Marjie Bruce and husband Pat, and Sonya Moriarty, all of Huntsville; special aunts, Dorothy Turner and Kathryn Woods; grandson, Tommy McMillian Jr.; granddaughter, LaTise Peters; two great-grandsons; brother-in-law, O’Dell McMillian and sister-in-law, Nancy Burton: and caregiver, Verna Mae Parker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, T. L. McMillian; son, Tommy S. McMilian; brothers, Norman Ready and E. L. Ready and her beloved pet “Mo.”

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2008, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Dodge Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008.
