NWISD to look at campus improvements

New Waverly Independent School District trustees will take a look at its 2009-10 Campus Improvement Plans when it meets Monday for its regular meeting.

The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the NWISD administration building board room, located at 355 Front St. in New Waverly.

Using the district’s previously approved district improvement plan as a guideline, campus improvement plans outline a campus’ overall goals for the year, covering areas such as academics, parental involvement and staff training.

The development and approval of district and campus improvement plans is required by the Texas Education Agency. The documents are “living” and eligible for updating as needed.

Also on Monday, the board will consider for possible approval: minutes and financial statements for September; the 2008-09 Audit; the district catastrophic management company; and the district textbook committee.

Trustees will hold a discussion on capital projects, hear a TASA/TASB Convention report and conduct a board training session. Personnel matters, including the resignation and hiring of teachers, will be discussed in closed session.
