Hospital board to swear in new members

— The Walker County Hospital District Board of Managers is scheduled to swear in new members during a regular meeting tonight at Huntsville Memorial Hospital.
Managers will meet at 7 p.m. in Meeting Room A.
The board of managers for 2008 include chairman Robert Hardy, secretary Johnny West, vice chairman Ron Lange, manager Susan Vanderheydt and manager Jerry Larrison.
Managers are elected for 2-year terms and all are at large positions.
Incumbents Larrison and Lange are being reinstated after an unopposed election in May.
WCHD employees include Maria Johnson, director of social services, and her assistant Cindy Morgan.
During the meeting, managers plan to reorganize the board as well as continue discussions of physician care for indigent patients at HMH.
The board will also consider approval for:
• Payment of indigent care bills,
• Monthly financial report,
• Payment of monthly bills,
• Reimbursement request from TownCreek Retirement Community for repairs at Ella Smither Geriatric Center in the amount of $7,581.48,
• One-year contract renewals for UTMB Prenatal Clinic and lease agreement with Mrs. Frances Byrd for the prenatal facility,
• TB contract with Huntsville Memorial Hospital.
