Family in need of funeral assistance

    Charleston Ray Franklin, who is a 1982 graduate of Huntsville High School, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, in Conroe. His family is in need of financial assistance to pay for his funeral arrangements. Contributions can be made directly to Williams and Son Funeral Home, located at 205 Highway 30 East. HISD Bond Planning Sessions

    The HISD Board of Trustees invites the community to be involved in their Bond Planning Sessions. There are four sessions scheduled and anyone interested in being involved can participate. Bond Planning Sessions will be at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates:  Thursday, Jan. 30 in the Huntsville High School Auditorium; Monday, Feb. 3 in the Gibbs Pre-Kindergarten Cafeteria; Monday, Feb. 10 in the Huntsville Intermediate School Cafeteria; and Monday, Feb. 17 in the Hawkins Administration Building. Free income tax service

    IRS certified TaxAide counselors will do personal income taxes at the Huntsville Public Library, 1219 13th St., on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:30-4:30 p.m., beginning Feb. 5. For directions or more information, contact the library at (936) 291-5472.

Huntsville ISD Western Art Show

    The Huntsville ISD Western Art Show is currently on display in the Commons Area at Mance Park Middle School. The show will conclude with an artists’ reception on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Parents and community members are invited to attend.
