McKinney-Werner Wedding
Miss Charla “Charli” JoAnne McKinney and Mr. Theodore “Ted” Michael Werner were united in marriage on Sunday, April 20, 2008, on Lake Raven in Huntsville State Park. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Ken Hugghins of Elkins Lake Baptist Church. It was an incredible celebration of life and love accented with lots of wildflowers and plants. The wedding party wore colorful tie-dye clothes, while both the bride and groom were barefoot and dressed in shades of white. Many beautiful people came from all walks of life to witness the blessed union of Ted and Charli.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike and Judy Werner of Huntsville. The bride is the daughter of Ms. Karen Hightower and the late Mr. Robert Wayne McKinney IV, but also has a father in Mr. Rick Hightower and Mr. Gary Canter. The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her younger brother, Mr. John Hightower. Miss Miranda Hightower, sister of the bride, served as flower girl and was escorted by ring bearer, Mr. Craig LoCicero.

The guest of honor was the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Betty Hightower.
Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held inside Raven Lodge. A wonderful rendition of “In My Life” by The Beatles was performed by Miss Miranda Hightower. The groom was surprised by an amazing cake resembing “The Green Man”, crafted by Karen Howard of Sugar and Spice Custom Bakery. An excellent buffet of hors d’ouvers was provided by Mr. Gary Canter and Mr. Mark Thrun, while Kim and Pete Theodorsen of Variety Sounds cranked up the tunes. Both the wedding and reception were gorgeously decorated thanks to Mrs. Sam Sandel, Mrs. Gretchen Durham and Mrs. Patsy Robinson. A great time was had by all!
After a dream come true of a honeymoon in Disney World, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Werner live happily ever after in Huntsville.
