Smith-McGee Wedding
Christa Love Smith and Jerry Cantrell McGee, Jr. were united in marriage on Sunday, November twenty-third at five o'clock in the evening at the St. Innocent Orthodox Cathedral in Anchorage, Alaska. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. Michael J Oleska. The choir, directed by Father John, was composed of friends and family from the Cathedral Choir including the bride's sister Shelia Harris, Anna Philemonof, and uncles' Eddie and Dimitri Philemonof. Immediately following the ceremony a dinner and dance was hosted by the bride's mother Maria Stowe and the bride's Uncle Dimitri Philemonof at the special Unangam Ulaa Headquarters of the Aleut Native Indian Tribe. The bride is Aleut, Native Alaskan from the Island of St. Paul on the Aleutian Chain.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Maria Stowe of Anchorage, Alaska and Mr. Linwood C. Stowe of New Bern, North Carolina.
The bride wore a strapless gown of ivory satin which she redesigned and draped into graduated folds from the bodice through the gently bustled back culminating with a lovely fluff of white feathers. The bride chose a short veil to compliment her gown. The bouquet was beautiful with large ivory rosebuds.
Serving as Maids of Honor for their sister were Demetria Heitsch and Shelia Harris, both of Vancouver, Washington. Luke Stowe, brother of the bride, and Dariya Kostareva were the Crown holders. Bronte' and Madeline Smith, daughters of the bride, were flower girls.
The groom is the son of Dr. Jerry and Carol McGee of Huntsville, TX. The groom's brother is Samuel P. McGee of Texas City, TX. Dr. Jerry C. McGee served as best man for his son.
The couple honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas and are now enjoying their new home and view of the snow covered mountains in Anchorage, Alaska. Jerry is Chief Customs and Border Patrol Protection Officer in Anchorage and Christa is a hair stylist. Jerry is a graduate of Huntsville High School and Sam Houston State University.
