BEARKATS BEAT UTSA IN 11

— Sam Houston State senior Mark Wyatt hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 11th to lead the Bearkats to a thrilling 8-6 victory over Texas-San Antonio in the second round of the Southland Conference baseball tournament on Thursday in Corpus Christi.
After the Kats tied the game at 6 on a two-run double by outfielder Adam DeLaGarza, SHSU reliever Matt Shelton shut the Roadrunners down without a hit for three more innings. Senior Nick Zaleski led off the bottom of the 11th with a single, then with one out, Wyatt delivered the game-winner over the left-field fence at Whataburger Field, home of the Corpus Christi Hooks.
