By Gene Schallenberg
genes@itemonline.com
The Bearkats didn't leave the score tied for long. After moving the ball to around midfield, the Kats converted a fourth down after quarterback Rhett Bomar rushed forward 1 yard, but wide receiver Catron Houston was penalized for a personal foul.
While the Kats did get the first down, they were pushed back to their own 34-yard line. Houston made up for it and burnt defensive back Jerrel Barnett for the second time of the game. With plenty of room to spare, a wide open Houston caught the ball and sprinted to the end zone for a 66-yard touchdown.
The Kats lead SFA 14-7.
